LAHORE: Punjab Government has decided to speed up setting up of industrial units in industrial estates throughout the province.
Chairing a departmental meeting in Lahore, Punjab Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal sought details of setting up industrial units after the year 2018.
He said that the purpose of setting up industrial estates is to set up industries rather than sale and purchase of plots only. He directed industrialists to set up industries, instead of putting hurdles.
The Industries Minister said that modernly equipped industrial estate will be set up on Lahore Multan Motorway.
He said that the government is implementing policy to boost up exports by decreasing dependency on imports.
He expressed displeasure over non utilization of Pakistan Drug Testing and Research Center at Sunder Industrial Estate, which was setup at a cost of six hundred million rupees.
He directed to prepare a feasible financial model to fully utilize this Center.
