ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah has briefed NCOC regarding Eid-ul-Azha management plan and associated hazards of Mandis, qurbani in public places and urban areas.

NCOC forum was briefed that plan for Qurbani on Eid-ul-Azha in wake of coronavirus threat will be finalized after consensus of all stake holders particularly the religious leaders.

Areas in focus include mechanism for animal sacrifices, Concept of Ijtimai Qurbani, Online booking (on line of Hajj), Central arrangements for distribution of meat through civil administration and local committees.

Modalities in this regard will be finalized within next week to provide complete month to the provinces for making necessary arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha.

Medical SOPs regarding animal sacrifice on Eid-ul-Azha will be formulated by Ministry of Health.

Moreover, Ministry of Health will make a detailed plan for uninterrupted oxygen supplies vis-à-vis projected disease spread.

Minister Industries will engage with manufactures of Oxygen in order to finalize way forward for capacity enhancement.

Provision of 24-hour road access for oxygen gas supply vehicles, cryogenic tankers by all Provincial Governments, ICT administration will be ensured as per health guidelines.

NDMA will ensure the urgent acquisition of additional cylinders, especially to meet the hospitals ramp up plan
