LAHORE: The management of Lahore Zoo has decided to increase ticket price by more than 50% at the beginning of New Year.

According to details, the decision has been taken to cover up the financial deficit faced by Zoo due to coronavirus lockdown.

As per an estimate, the Zoo suffered a loss of more than Rs. 50 million this year.

After the revised prices, children's tickets will be available at Rs. 50 and adults at Rs. 100.

Director of Lahore Zoo, Shafqat Ali said that the Zoo is an independent institution and it has to cover deficit on its own.

Moreover, the administration has also handed over parking, snake house, camel ride and baby swings to different entities on contract basis.

Decision to bring in new animals to the Zoo has also been overturned due to financial losses caused by the pandemic.
