LAHORE: A local court in Punjab’s capital on Thursday granted bail to Mian Kashif Zameer, who had hosted Turkish star Engin Altan during his maiden visit to Pakistan, in cases of threatening citizens.

A team of Ghalib Market police station presented the suspect before the court where it was informed that cases of issuing killing threats to citizens are registered against the suspect.

However, counsel for the Managing Director of Chaudhry Group of Companies pleaded the court to grant bail his client.

The court accepted the plea and directed the suspects to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000 in each case, which were registered following the visit of the Turkish actor.

Zameer was arrested Thursday morning following the cases against him registered by citizens.

A number of controversies erupted as Altan, who reached Pakistan on December 10, went back after completing his tour. Some suggested that the Pakistani man had defrauded the Turkish actor as he paid only half amount of the one million dollar deal.

Later, the TikToker issued a video clarifying that remaining amount will be paid to Altan as he completes shooting of advertisement of his companies’ products.
