ISLAMABAD:: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity rates by Rs. 1.16 per unit.
According to a notification released by NEPRA, the electricity tariffs have been increased by Rs. 1.16 per unit for one month.
The rates have been increased in lieu of fuel price adjustment and will put an additional burden of Rs 8.40 billion on consumers.
The spokesperson further said that for the month of October and November Rs. 0.29/unit and Rs. 0.76/unit has been increased.
The new electricity prices will be applicable on consumer bills in the following month.
