Pakistan remembers renowned novelist 'Bajia' on her death anniversary

KARACHI: Pakistan is remembering the acclaimed play writer, novelist and drama writer, Fatima Surayya Bajia on her 5th death anniversary on Wednesday, who passed away at the age of 85 in Karachi after prolonged illness.

The veteran writer received ample recognition in Pakistan for her contributions in literature and crowned numerous awards including the Pride of performance Award, the Hilal-i-Imtiaz and the highest civil award of Japan.

She was born on September 1, 1930 in Karnatak India and passed away on February 10, 2016 after suffering from throat cancer.

Her most famous dramas include Afshan, Aroosa, Shama and Zeenat.
