KARACHI: In light of The coronavirus, PIA the national flag carrier's CEO announced a 20% cut in his salary. Department chief officers have also slashed their salaries by 20% while managers have decided to cut theirs by 15%. Deputy managers have decided to slash their salaries by 10% and managers, by 8%. The airline's spokesperson said that the decision taken by the management was aimed at providing some cushion to the airline during the financial crunch it was going through due to the coronavirus outbreak.
