PM directs to prioritize provision of relief to domestic electricity consumers

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed for giving top most priority to provision of relief to domestic electricity consumers and uninterrupted and affordable power supply to industries.

Chairing a meeting on energy sector in Islamabad today, he expressed satisfaction over reforms being made in energy sector.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the reforms should be designed keeping in view the future needs and they should be long-lasting.

The meeting discussed improvement in production and transmission of electricity, making energy mix better and environment friendly, and the proposed projects of generating cheap electricity. In addition, the meeting was informed on the progress in ongoing projects.

The Prime Minister was also apprised about the agreements made by the previous governments and their negative effects on economy and ordinary people. He was also briefed about the steps taken for relief of the common man and the industry despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
