Punjab CM accords approval for construction, extension of four highways

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has accorded approval for construction and extension of four important highways in province.

Presiding over a meeting in Lahore on Sunday, he said foundation stones of dual carriage way 204km Chichawatni-Rajana-Peer Mahal-Chowk Azam-Layyah-Taunsa Highway project will be laid down during this year.

He said that work on 107km long Jhang Bypass-Shorkot Road project will also be launched soon.

He said work on 150km long Dipalpur-Pakpattan-Vehari Road and 75km Hasilpur-Bahawalnagar road project will also be started this year.

Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Sahiwal and Chichawatni will be linked with Motorway.

He said that under the second phase of Naya Pakistan Mazlain Aasan Program, rural roads are being constructed at a cost of fifteen billion rupees.
