Russia, US working together in bid to salvage 2015 Iran nuclear deal
Top US and Russian officials have held talks in Vienna in a bid to salvage the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
According to US State Department, Russian envoy Mikhail Ulyanov met with US special envoy to Iran, Robert Malley to discuss different aspects of the nuclear deal.
In a tweet, the Iranian envoy said close consultations and coordination between Russia and the US constitute an important prerequisite for progress towards restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden will hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin this month in a bid to de-escalate tensions over Ukraine.
