Seventy killed in Helmand, Afghanistan

KABUL: In Afghanistan, seventy Taliban were killed during clashes with government forces in the Lashkar Gah city of Helmand province during the last twenty-four hours. Several government security forces have also been killed in the fighting.

Provincial Police Chief Khalil Ul Rahman Jawad said, fighting resumed after scores of Taliban launched a massive attack on security checkpoints in the surrounding area of the city.
