NEW YORK: The United Nations has called for greater investment in universal health coverage.
Launching latest policy brief, “COVID-19 and Universal Health Coverage” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the importance of strong public health systems and emergency preparedness for communities and economies globally.
UN Secretary-General said the pandemic revealed yawning gaps in social protection, health systems and major structural inequalities within and between countries.
