NEW YORK: The Third Committee of United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution tabled by Pakistan for universal realization of the right of peoples to self-determination.
In a series of tweet, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the World Body, Munir Akram said the resolution co-sponsored by seventy-one countries reflects international consensus and consistent support.
He said by reaffirming right to self-determination and its continued applicability serves as beacon of hope to those millions of people who are striving to realize this fundamental right.
Munir Akram said the General Assembly's affirmation of support preserves their belief that their destinities will be decided in accordance with the principles of justice not by power of force.
