US sends Khalilzad to push ahead peace talks between Afghan Govt & Taliban

WASHINGTON D.C. : United States has sent Special Envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad to push ahead peace talks between Afghan government and Taliban.

In a statement, US State Department said Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad has departed to travel Doha, Kabul, Islamabad, Oslo and Sofia.

The statement said United States is drawing down its troops in Afghanistan under an agreement struck in February with the Taliban.
