Youths from Chitral rescues rare snow leopard

CHITRAL : A number of youngsters in Chitral saved the life of a wounded rare snow leopard after rescuing it from a mountain valley and then contacting the Chitral Division Wildlife on time for help, reported media.

The snow leopard was wounded after it fell down from a mountain in the Arkari area of Chitral.

The local youth rescued the rare animal and took care of it the whole day. Later, a Chitral Wildlife team arrived at the scene and took the leopard into its custody and shifted it to Peshawar for treatment.

Chitral Division Wildlife officials said, “A successful operation was carried out after transporting the injured snow leopard to Peshawar.”

Chitral District is one of Pakistan’s key snow leopard habitats, located high in the Hindukush mountain range on the western edge of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
