NEW YORK: At the United Nations, the new US President Joe Biden’s administration has assured its support to a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians.

Speaking at the UN Security Council, acting US envoy to the United Nations Richard Mills said the Biden administration will overturn several Trump administration decisions.

He said Washington will urge Israel and Palestinians to avoid unilateral steps that make a two-state solution more difficult.

He said the Biden administration intends to restore Palestinian aid and take steps to re-open the Palestinian diplomatic mission in Washington.
